E-Lack Shield Eco
Matched to the real load profile.
E-Lack Shield Eco at AVP Autopflege: paint protection matched to how electric vehicles are actually loaded. Two levels, 18 or 24 months.
E-Lack Shield Eco
Why the paint on an electric vehicle is loaded differently.
Electric vehicles stand for resource-conscious mobility. Their paint, however, is loaded differently in daily use than that of a combustion car: finer brake dust from recuperation, stronger electrostatic charge, longer standing times at charging points and more short journeys.
Recuperation produces finer metal oxide particles that bond more firmly to the paint, the battery mass and charging cycles increase electrostatic attraction, and time spent at chargers, in car parks and on open ground adds resin, industrial particles and weathering. Together these lead to more particle adhesion, faster soiling and more cleaning effort.
E-Lack Shield Eco is matched to exactly that load profile. The optimised surface reduces soil adhesion, which lowers water consumption, reduces the amount of cleaning product needed and extends the life of the clear coat. The environmental benefit comes from the lower load in service, not from the material itself.

Two protection levels
Eco 18 and Eco+ 24 compared.
Both levels use the same surface optimisation. The difference lies in how long the protection lasts and how stable the layer is.
Up to 18 months of protection.
For vehicles kept on a regular care routine. Reduced particle adhesion, fewer wash cycles and less cleaning product. Suited to short journeys and frequent charging.
Up to 24 months of protection.
For vehicles of higher value or in intensive use. Longer protection, a more stable surface structure and fewer polishing cycles. Suited to Tesla, Taycan, EQS and e-tron.
Process
Less effort, less consumption.
The environmental effect appears in maintenance: what adheres less has to be removed less often and with fewer products.
Less water
The anti-adhesive surface keeps the vehicle clean for longer. Wash cycles are reduced, which saves water and energy.
Less cleaning product
Fine dust and metal oxide adhere less strongly, so less shampoo, wheel cleaner and degreaser is required.
Fewer micro-scratches
Less soil means less friction during washing. That protects the clear coat and reduces the need for polishing.
Longer paint life
A stable surface protects against environmental influences and reduces rework, which saves resources and material.
Honest assessment
What E-Lack Shield Eco does not do.
A coating optimises the surface. It replaces neither a polish nor mechanical protection against stone chips.
The stated 18 or 24 months is a value drawn from experience. It assumes proper preparation and regular care, and depends on use, where the vehicle is parked and the weather it meets. Existing scratches and paint defects do not disappear under the coating: they are assessed beforehand and corrected where that makes sense. The layer is too thin to stop stone chips, which is what paint protection film is for. The system can be applied to combustion cars as well, but the benefit is clearly greater on electric vehicles because the loads described occur more strongly there.
