Gloss polishing

A gloss polish is suited to sound paint that has lost depth through weather, washing and everyday use. It refines the surface without promising correction the paint cannot safely support.
We inspect the finish first, prepare it thoroughly and choose pad, compound and machine movement for the actual paint. The result is a calmer reflection and cleaner gloss, ready for the protection that should follow.
When it fits
When the paint is sound but looks tired.
The condition, occasion and protection plan determine whether a gloss polish is the right level of work.
When gloss has become flat.
Fine haze and everyday washing marks can reduce depth even when substantial correction is not required.
When presentation matters.
Useful before a sale, collection event or handover when the finish should look composed and well cared for.

Polishing prepares the surface so wax, sealant or ceramic protection can bond to properly refined paint.

Honest assessment
What a gloss polish cannot correct.
Deep scratches, pronounced wash damage and oxidised paint need a stronger correction process. A polish also refines the paint; it does not replace lasting protection.
We explain the difference before work begins. If the defect requires multi-stage correction, local repair or refinishing, a lighter gloss polish is not presented as the solution.
