Autumn is a practical time to inspect paint before road salt and frequent wet conditions arrive. The work should still be chosen by condition, not by the calendar alone.

Wash and dry carefully

Remove loose dirt before contact washing and use separate tools for heavily contaminated areas. Drying reveals remaining deposits, stone chips and defects that were difficult to judge while the vehicle was dirty.

Separate correction from protection

Polishing removes a controlled amount of material to improve suitable defects. It is not required simply because winter is approaching.

Wax, sealant and coating systems add different forms of temporary surface protection. Their suitability depends on preparation, desired durability and the maintenance routine that will follow.

Maintain the result

Protection does not make paint immune to salt, grit or poor washing. Regular rinsing and compatible cleaning remain important through winter.
