Wash and decontaminate the paint before polishing. Inspect it under direct light and protect trim and vulnerable edges.

Apply a hand-polish product with its recommended applicator in small overlapping sections. Working pattern, residue time and pressure follow the manufacturer rather than one universal circular technique.

Hand work can improve light haze and inaccessible details but offers limited correction across a whole vehicle.

Wax, sealant or coating may follow once the finish is clean and compatible. New clear-coated cars are not automatically exempt from protection, and older paint is not automatically safe to wax.
