Outdoor polishing in cold, damp weather is difficult to control. Condensation changes how compounds behave, surfaces are harder to inspect and many protection products have minimum application and curing temperatures.

Controlled conditions matter

Winter work is entirely possible in a clean, dry and temperature-controlled workshop. The vehicle needs time to acclimatise, dry fully and release water from mirrors, seals and panel gaps before polishing begins.

Why preparation before winter helps

Road salt, grime and standing moisture increase cleaning demands. Polishing does not itself prevent corrosion, but correcting the paint and applying a suitable protection system before or during winter can make maintenance easier.

Existing chips, exposed metal and underbody concerns need separate attention; a paint sealant cannot repair them. AVP assesses the finish first and recommends correction only where it adds value.
