When washing is not enough

A finish that still feels rough after washing may carry bonded contamination. Small orange points can indicate ferrous fallout, while resin and tar need different removal chemistry.

Match the method to the deposit

AVP hand washes the affected area first. Chemical fallout or tar removers can then loosen compatible contamination, followed where necessary by lubricated mechanical decontamination with a clay medium.

Clay does not guarantee a scratch-free process and can leave light marring, particularly on soft paint. Product compatibility, lubrication and inspection under good lighting matter more than using an Audi-specific cleaner.

Reassess the finish

Once contamination is removed, the actual paint condition becomes visible. Polishing is only added where defects justify controlled correction; protection follows on a properly prepared surface.
