Polishing can look simple from a distance, but professional correction involves far more than moving a machine over paint.

A specialist needs to understand paint assessment, abrasive behaviour, pad construction, machine movement, temperature, lighting and the limits of each defect.

Even experienced technicians continue practising because paint systems and repairs respond differently. New products and tools also require testing before they are used on customer vehicles.

The fundamentals can be learned in structured training, but judgement develops through repeated supervised work: selecting a test combination, reading the residue, recognising heat and knowing when further correction is no longer justified.
