UV, road contamination, washing and contact affect paint over time. Protection can support maintenance, but there is no universal point at which an uncoated vehicle suddenly becomes “too late.”

New cars still need inspection

A new finish may require decontamination, but polishing is not mandatory before every coating. AVP corrects only defects that justify material removal.

Protection has limits

Wax, sealant and coating systems can change water behaviour, chemical resistance and ease of cleaning. They do not prevent plant scratches, clothing contact, chips or all fading.

Put warranty terms in writing

Any durability guarantee must identify the product, covered performance, maintenance, inspections, exclusions and remedy. The broad free-reapplication promise in the historical article should not be assumed as current.

The right time is when the surface can be prepared properly and the owner is ready to maintain the chosen system.
