A fire in or near a vehicle is first a safety and insurance matter, not a detailing job.

Do not start or move the vehicle

Follow emergency-service instructions and keep clear until the vehicle has been declared safe. Fuel, batteries, high-voltage components, airbags and heat-damaged structures may remain hazardous.

Contact the insurer and arrange recovery or assessment by an appropriately qualified specialist. Do not disturb evidence or begin cleaning before the claim process allows it.

Soot also needs assessment

A nearby fire can deposit soot and other residues on paint, glass and ventilation systems. Avoid wiping dry residue across the finish, as this can cause abrasion.
