Petrol is a volatile, highly flammable solvent, not an acid. Keep away from ignition sources, do not operate electrical equipment and do not drive the vehicle when a significant spill or strong vapour remains.

Move people away and ventilate only where this can be done safely. For a large spill, symptoms, uncertainty or contamination near technical components, contact emergency services, the insurer or an appropriate hazardous-material specialist.

Petrol can damage plastics, coatings, foam and adhesives. Contaminated absorbent material may require removal and specialist disposal rather than cosmetic covering.

AVP should assess detailing only after the immediate fire, health and technical risks have been resolved.
