Washing without brush marks
AVP hand washes vehicles because the process can respond to contamination, materials and difficult areas instead of running one fixed programme.
Hand washing is not automatically scratch-free
Pre-rinsing, lubrication, clean wash media, separate wheel tools and low pressure are what reduce marring. A dirty mitt can mark paint just as an inadequately maintained automated brush can.
Clean according to what remains
Insects, tar, fallout and resin need specific products rather than endless repeat washes. Each additional contact stage should have a defined purpose.
The final inspection covers bodywork, wheels, glass, door shuts and drying traps. AVP quotes the agreed wash scope, not the number of passes required to complete it.
Automated washing can still be practical maintenance; the useful distinction is process quality rather than machine versus hand as an absolute rule.
