“Liquid glass” is a marketing description used for some silane, siloxane or silica-based surface treatments. It does not mean a thick sheet of glass forms over the paint.

A thin functional layer

A compatible coating can bond to properly prepared paint, increase water repellency and make some contamination easier to remove. Mechanical abrasion, chemistry and weather still degrade it.

Read product-specific evidence

Claims such as −90 to 750°C resistance, five-year service life or simple five-year renewal describe a particular formulation and test context, if they are supported at all. They should not be applied to every “liquid glass” product.

Likewise, price compared with champagne says nothing about coating performance. Technical data, approved substrates, preparation, curing, maintenance and written warranty terms are more useful.

Protection has physical limits

A coating can support gloss and UV resistance according to its documentation, but it does not prevent every scratch or stone impact.
