Trams operate for long hours and face road contamination, repeated washing and occasional vandalism. A surface treatment must fit the operator’s materials, cleaning process and maintenance schedule.

Assess cleaning performance

AVP previously developed RubinOne First for trams with the aim of making exterior contamination easier to remove. A representative test area should establish whether a selected product improves cleaning without affecting paint, decals or adjacent components.

A coating cannot guarantee that repainting will become unnecessary. It also does not prevent mechanical damage or substitute for anti-graffiti systems where those are required.

Document fleet requirements

Operator approval, substrate compatibility, wash chemistry, safe application and written performance criteria should be established before rollout.
