Plastics appear throughout a vehicle, from exterior handles and grilles to dashboards, trims and protective panels. They differ in texture, colour, coating and resistance, so one dressing cannot restore every surface.

This one-day, product-independent course combined theory with practical work. Participants first learned to identify contamination and remove old dressing, polish residue and ingrained dirt without staining the plastic.

Where cleaning alone could not restore an even appearance, the course introduced professional colour-restoration methods. These treatments require careful preparation and controlled application because an uneven result can be more visible than the original fading.

Protection formed a separate stage. Participants compared compatible systems, learned how to avoid patchy application and discussed the maintenance each finish requires.

The module also included convertible roofs. Fabric, vinyl and coated materials need different cleaning methods, controlled moisture and thorough drying before any impregnation product is applied.

A former participant explained that the additional training helped him stand out when applying for an entry-level role in professional vehicle care.

A short course cannot guarantee employment or mastery, but it can provide evidence of initiative and a more structured technical foundation.
