Preparing for professional paint correction
Remove loose and bonded contamination
AVP pre-rinses, hand washes and treats tar, fallout or resin with their appropriate chemistry. Repeating contact washing is not the answer to every remaining deposit.
A clean mitt, adequate lubrication and separate wheel tools reduce contact risk more reliably than a sponge and unlimited water.
Dry without creating new problems
Clean towels and controlled air remove trapped water from badges, mirrors and seams. Compressed air is used carefully around brakes, sensors and delicate trim; it is not required to prevent ordinary surface rust after every wash.
Inspect and test
Mechanical decontamination is used only where bonded residue remains and may itself create light marring. Lighting, paint readings where suitable and a test section define the correction plan.
Make, model, colour and age provide context, but actual defects, repairs and paint response determine the process.
Mask selectively
Porous trim, edges, badges and adjacent materials are protected where polish contact or pad movement creates risk. Windows do not universally need full covering, and machine contact with plastic is not automatically catastrophic.
This preparation makes correction more predictable and allows AVP to document limits before abrasive work begins.
