Freshly polished paint is clean and usually ready for new protection, although sealing is not technically compulsory in every situation.

Wax, polymer, silica and ceramic systems differ in preparation, curing and maintenance. Labels such as PTFE or nano do not alone establish suitability.

Protection can support UV and chemical resistance and easier cleaning, but cannot stop fine scratches or make bird residue safe to wipe away with a damp cloth.
