A convertible combines normal vehicle care with a movable roof system. There is no automatic need for polishing and sealing every few years; condition decides.

Clean the roof by material

Fabric, vinyl, painted folding panels and plastic rear windows need different products. AVP removes loose soil first and tests cleaners on older or unknown materials.

Do not lubricate blindly

Roof mechanisms have manufacturer-specific service points and lubricants. Applying general oil can attract grit, damage plastics or interfere with seals.

Drains and seals should be inspected and cleaned, while stiffness, misalignment or water ingress may need a roof specialist.

Wet interiors need source control

If rain enters, extract moisture and dry the full material depth quickly. A musty smell does not prove mould by itself, and odour treatment cannot replace leak repair or proper drying.
