Winter spray carries dissolved salt into wheel arches, seams and the underbody. When moisture returns, remaining salt can continue to support corrosion.

Cleaning is the first defence

Regularly remove contamination with a suitable wash process, including accessible underbody areas. Inspect chips, failed coatings, drains and exposed metal once the vehicle is clean and dry.

Protection must be applied to a sound basis

Underbody wax or another approved system may help where it is compatible with the vehicle. Applying material over dirt, moisture or active corrosion can hide the problem.

Paint sealant supports exterior maintenance but does not prevent corrosion throughout the chassis or replace repairs. Existing rust requires condition-specific technical treatment.

AVP separates cleaning and cosmetic protection from corrosion diagnosis so the limits remain clear.
