Follow the vehicle’s service plan

An electric car does not need a conventional engine-oil check, but manufacturer maintenance still covers brakes, fluids, filters, cooling and other vehicle-specific items.

Check everyday functions

Drivers can inspect exterior lighting, wiper performance, glass, tyre pressure and visible charging-cable condition. Warning messages or faults require an appropriately qualified workshop.

Do not overlook friction brakes

Regeneration can reduce brake use, which may allow corrosion or restricted movement to develop. A workshop inspection is more useful than assuming low wear means no attention.

Choose tyres for conditions

Inspect tread, damage and pressure and change seasonal tyres according to weather and tyre suitability rather than a fixed October-to-Easter rule.

Remove winter contamination

Use an approved exterior and underbody wash process. Polishing and coating remain optional appearance work selected only after inspection.
