Hand washing can improve process control, but it is not inherently more sustainable in every case. Water volume, heating, chemistry, wastewater treatment, equipment efficiency and throughput all need to be measured.

Inspection lighting is also essential for paint correction, so responsible use means using appropriate light when the work requires it and avoiding unnecessary consumption elsewhere.
