Plastic headlight lenses can become dull or yellow as their protective surface ages. The change affects the vehicle's appearance and may reduce the useful light reaching the road.

Inspect before polishing

AVP first checks whether the clouding is on the outer lens and whether cracks, moisture or damage inside the lamp require a different repair. Not every lighting problem is a polishing problem.

Restore and protect the surface

Where the lens is suitable, controlled sanding and polishing can remove the degraded outer layer. The surface then needs compatible UV protection; polishing without renewed protection leaves the plastic exposed again.

Household abrasives such as toothpaste cannot provide a controlled or durable restoration. Aggressive compounds, excessive heat and unprotected sanding can distort the lens or shorten its service life.

The finished lens is inspected for clarity and an even surface. Bulbs, reflectors, alignment and electrical faults remain separate technical checks.
