A sports car or collector vehicle can be used in winter only when its equipment, condition and the road conditions make the journey appropriate.

Prepare the complete vehicle

Use suitable tyres, winter-compatible fluids and sound wipers. Check battery condition, heating, demisting and any manufacturer restrictions for low temperatures or road salt.

Respect clearance and grip

Low bodywork, performance tyres and cold brakes can change the margin available on snow, ice and rutted roads. Postpone the drive when conditions exceed the vehicle or driver's capability.

Remove contamination afterwards

Salt and grit should be removed with a suitable wash process, including accessible wheel-arch and underbody areas. Inspect existing chips and protective coatings once dry.

Paint or underbody protection can support maintenance but cannot prevent all corrosion, chips or contact damage. Product durability must be specified rather than assumed for several years.
