Hand and machine polishing are methods, not packages. The useful process depends on the defect, paint condition and result being requested.

Lettering-shadow refinement addresses the contrast left after graphics are removed. Adhesive, contamination and different UV exposure must be treated separately before light polishing blends the appearance where possible.

Classic-car polishing prioritises preservation. Original paint, thin edges and previous work determine whether gentle refinement, hand work or no correction is appropriate.

Scratch correction can reduce defects that remain within the upper paint layer. A scratch through the clear coat or colour cannot be removed safely by polishing alone.

Contamination and local paint defects begin with specialist cleaning. Tree sap, bird residue, concrete and industrial fallout should not simply be polished into the surface.

General machine polishing ranges from a one-stage gloss refinement to multi-stage correction and finishing. Matt paint is not polished like gloss paint because abrasion can create irreversible shiny areas.

Hologram removal and wash-mark correction require different pads and compounds, while hand work remains useful around handles and inaccessible details.
