A railway operator asked AVP to test a protective treatment on three new carriages. The scale was very different from a passenger car, but the core process remained the same: inspect, prepare and work through each surface in a clear order.

Inside the first carriage, the team found several areas that still required cleaning despite the vehicle being new. Narrow joints and transitions were addressed with tools suited to the materials.

Handrails, seats, floors, windows and screens were inspected again under LED lighting after the initial clean.

Outside, the polishing system had been selected specifically for the assignment. Working safely at height was essential, with the team beginning near the roof centre and progressing outwards before moving down the carriage sides.

The first polishing stage took several hours. A second stage refined the finish further, creating a visible difference between the delivered surface and the prepared result.

Because the operator wanted all three carriages completed within three days, the team continued beyond the normal working day. The protective layer was then applied to the prepared surface in controlled sections.

By the end of the assignment, all three vehicles had been completed within the agreed period. The work demonstrated how a repeatable detailing process can be scaled for large transport surfaces when access, safety and product compatibility are planned in advance.
