Clean tyres complete the appearance of prepared wheels, but cosmetic work must never conceal cracking, bulges, cuts or unsafe wear.

Clean wheel and tyre separately

Wheel chemistry is selected for the wheel finish and used on a cool surface. The tyre sidewall is cleaned with a compatible product and brush until old dressing and road film no longer transfer heavily.

Apply a controlled finish

A water-based or otherwise suitable dressing is spread thinly on the dry sidewall and levelled to prevent sling. It stays away from the tread and braking components.

The aim is an even, natural finish rather than an artificial wet shine. Tyre dressing has no role in roadworthiness; pressure, age, tread and damage still require normal safety checks.
