A headliner is often overlooked until staining, smoke residue or odour becomes visible. It does not need cleaning on a fixed schedule; condition determines whether intervention is useful.

Moisture must remain controlled

Headliner fabric is commonly bonded to foam and backing. Saturation, heat or aggressive brushing can release aged adhesive, distort the surface or create tide marks.

AVP tests a discreet area and works with minimal moisture, light agitation and controlled extraction where the construction permits.

Odour needs source treatment

Smoke residue can settle in the headliner, but it also reaches seats, carpets, ventilation and other porous materials. Cleaning one surface cannot guarantee complete odour removal.

The result is assessed for even appearance and stable adhesion. Existing sagging or damaged backing requires repair rather than deeper cleaning.
