An autumn check combines safety-critical workshop items with simple visibility and care tasks. The vehicle handbook and current local requirements remain the primary references.

Tyres and lighting

Inspect tyre condition, pressure and tread, and choose tyres suitable for the expected conditions. Check dipped beam, indicators, brake lights and other exterior lighting; alignment or faults need professional correction.

Fluids, battery and wipers

Use coolant and washer fluid specified for the vehicle and expected temperature. A workshop can test battery condition and investigate weak starting rather than relying on seasonal assumptions.

Replace damaged wiper blades and clean the glass so that low sun and oncoming lights do not amplify smearing.

Seals, roof and paint

Inspect door and roof seals with products approved by the manufacturer. Convertible roofs should be clean and dry before any compatible protection is applied, and frozen mechanisms should not be forced.

Wash the exterior and inspect stone chips or exposed metal before winter contamination accumulates. Paint protection may support maintenance, but it is separate from repairing damage.

Carry practical equipment

An ice scraper, suitable gloves and other journey-specific items belong in the vehicle. De-icer intended for frozen locks is only useful if it can be reached from outside.
