Clean the leather finish, not the badge

Clothing dye and body oils can build up on frequently used bolsters. After vacuuming seams, AVP tests a compatible leather cleaner and works in gentle stages.

Automotive leather is not polished like vehicle paint. Aggressive abrasion can remove colour and the protective topcoat.

Repair is a separate process

Creases are normal; cracks, coating loss and colour damage cannot be filled reliably by “leather polish”. They need assessment for cleaning, colour repair, structural repair or replacement.

A suitable protectant can support later maintenance and reduce dye transfer on some finishes. It does not prevent all staining or wear and should leave the seat natural rather than slippery or glossy.
