Begin with a cool, shaded vehicle

After summer, inspect the car for insects, resin, honeydew, bird residue and dried road film. Clean panels in the shade so products do not dry before they can be rinsed or levelled.

Wheels and bodywork

Work on cool wheels with chemistry compatible with their finish. Removing wheels requires safe lifting equipment and correct refitting, so it should not be treated as a casual washing step.

Pre-rinse the body to remove loose particles, then use clean wash media and a lubricated automotive shampoo. Pay attention to door shuts, trim gaps and grilles without forcing water into electronics or damaged seals.

Interior and seats

Vacuum loose debris before cleaning plastics or textiles. Fabric, leather and headlining require separate products and controlled moisture. Test leather cleaner on a discreet area and do not saturate perforated or heated seats.

Inspect rather than polish automatically

Once clean, check for etching, chips, failed protection and permanent stains. Polishing is justified only where the finish and available paint support correction. A suitable protection system can then make autumn and winter maintenance easier.
