Begin with a thorough wash and decontamination. Polishing over grit creates new defects regardless of product quality.

Inspect the paint under direct light and identify whether the issue is contamination, a correctable clear-coat defect or damage that needs repair.

Use the product manufacturer's pad, speed and working-area guidance. “Medium speed” and a hazelnut-sized amount are not universal settings.

Start with the least aggressive combination on a small test area, keep the pad flat and clean it regularly. Avoid thin edges, unmasked trim and heat build-up.

Hand polishing offers limited correction but can suit inaccessible details. Random circular and straight movements should not replace a consistent overlapping technique.
