Preserve visibility

Keep enough winter-compatible washer fluid in the vehicle and clean glass, lights and wipers. Road spray can obscure the windscreen quickly.

Follow the handbook for fluids

Check oil, coolant and other consumables only through the vehicle's specified procedure. Brake and transmission fluids require the appropriate workshop, especially when a level change may indicate a fault.

Set tyre pressure for load and conditions

Use the vehicle label or handbook and inspect tread and damage. Suitable winter tyres remain more important than pressure alone.

Treat brake concerns as technical work

Warning lights, noise, vibration, pulling or changed pedal feel require professional assessment. Do not judge remaining pad life from an uncertain visual check.
