Polishing improves paint by removing a controlled amount of material to reduce haze, oxidation and suitable scratches. It creates clarity but does not itself provide lasting surface protection.

Wax, sealant or coating adds a sacrificial layer over the prepared finish. This can improve water behaviour, reduce how firmly contamination adheres and make routine washing easier.

Protection cannot stop stone chips, deep scratches or careless washing. Bird residue, tree sap and road chemicals still need prompt removal, while UV exposure and weather continue to age the vehicle.

There is also no universal polishing interval. Repeated abrasion should follow condition, not a calendar; good protection and careful maintenance can reduce how often correction is useful.
