The historical CarSpa resin-removal service
Tree resin can harden on paint and become more difficult to remove over time. Dry scraping, petrol and improvised solvents risk staining or damaging the finish.
Soften and test first
Loose dirt is washed away before a compatible resin remover is tested on a discreet area. The deposit is softened and lifted gradually with clean material rather than forced from the surface.
Heat introduces risk to clear coat, plastic trim and repaired paint and should not be treated as a routine DIY step. Persistent deposits need controlled specialist assessment.
Inspect after removal
Etching or staining may remain once the resin has gone. Polishing is considered only if the paint supports correction. A sealant may make later maintenance easier but cannot prevent resin from landing or hardening.
CarSpa is a historical service name. Current resin treatment can be discussed through AVP in Glattbrugg.
