A classic Audi may carry single-stage paint, older clear coat, local repairs, patina and trim that cannot simply be replaced. The work begins with documentation and a conservative test area.

Cleaning products and tools are chosen for the actual material. Machine polishing is not automatically wrong on a classic, and hand polishing is not automatically safer; control, access and paint condition decide the method.

Protect a finish that can accept protection

After any correction, wax or sealant is selected for compatibility and the owner's preservation goals. Fragile or original finishes may be better left with minimal intervention.
