Road salt is most concerning where stone chips, seams or protective coatings are already damaged.

Pre-rinse heavy contamination before contact washing. Wheels, arches, lower panels and accessible underbody areas need clean water and controlled pressure.

Dry door shuts and seals in freezing weather, then inspect clean paint for chips or corrosion that require repair.

Water beading alone does not prove that a wax layer still protects effectively, and automatic wash quality varies by equipment and maintenance.

At season end, a thorough clean and inspection are more useful than polishing by default.
