Many modern electric cars use synthetic or heavily coated upholstery rather than exposed natural leather. The correct repair starts with material identification.

Clean before judging damage

A compatible cleaner can remove transfer, oils and soil. Abrasive “leather polish” is not a routine treatment for a newer seat.

Separate wear from structural damage

Minor colour loss and selected surface cracks may suit a staged repair using cleaning, preparation, flexible filler and matched coating. Tears, failed foam, seams and larger burns require upholstery work.

Local repair can reduce visibility but may not become undetectable. Older and rare materials need especially cautious testing before intervention.
