UV exposure and weather can degrade the exterior coating on polycarbonate headlamp lenses. The result may be haze, yellowing and reduced light output.

Assess the source of the problem

Exterior oxidation can often be corrected through a staged process designed for headlamp plastic. Cracks, internal condensation, reflector damage and electrical faults cannot be polished away.

Restore protection after correction

Abrasive correction removes degraded material and usually the remaining factory UV layer. A compatible, durable UV-protection system must therefore complete the process.

Headlamp removal is not automatically required and should follow vehicle repair procedures when it is. After restoration, beam performance and legal roadworthiness still need to meet current requirements.
