Removing winter salt safely
Meltwater carries road salt into wheel arches, seams and the underbody. Driving through a puddle does not clean those areas and can add more contaminated water.
A controlled rinse uses clean water and enough access to reach deposits without forcing moisture into connectors, vents, bearings or damaged seals.
The engine bay should not be treated as an ordinary underbody surface. Modern electronics, intake components and manufacturer restrictions require a separate assessment before any wet cleaning.
Cleaning removes residue but cannot reverse corrosion or repair failed protective coatings. Visible damage should be referred for mechanical or body inspection.
AVP confirms which accessible areas can be cleaned safely before beginning the work.
