Water, road salt and trapped dirt accelerate corrosion where metal is exposed or moisture remains. Modern vehicles also combine coatings, seam sealers, cavities and drainage paths that need different treatment.

Inspect before applying protection

Wash affected areas, allow them to dry and identify chips, damaged seams, blocked drains and existing rust. Active corrosion needs proper repair; covering it can trap the problem out of sight.

Use systems designed for the location

Paint sealant protects exterior paint only within its limits. Underbody and cavity protection require approved products, correct access and care around brakes, exhaust, sensors, drainage and high-voltage components.

No coating can form a second skin over every vehicle part or reliably prevent all rust. Periodic inspection and prompt repair of damage remain essential.
