The one-day Specialist Interior Cleaning course built on AVP's foundation module and focused on contamination that routine vacuuming and wiping cannot resolve.

Animal hair was one central topic. Different fabrics hold hair in different ways, so participants compared vacuum tools, brushes and controlled agitation rather than relying on a single “miracle” accessory. Odour and dander also had to be considered separately from the visible hair.

Spilled liquids, dried food and mould-contaminated residue formed the second part of the module. The source, substrate and depth of penetration determined whether extraction, repeated cleaning or component removal was appropriate.

Deep cleaning is useful only when moisture remains controlled. Overwetting can create tide marks, damage adhesive layers or leave the interior damp, so theory was followed immediately by supervised practical work.

Both the foundation and advanced modules were product-independent. Participants learned to read product information, test compatibility and choose a method rather than being required to buy one brand.

The day ended with an assessment and certificate. One participant who owned a dog reported using the skills on his own vehicle before taking on a small paid cleaning assignment for a friend.
