Preparing a car for summer
Tyres and visibility
Check tyre damage, age, tread and pressure against the vehicle's load guidance. After a wheel change, follow the vehicle procedure for its tyre-pressure monitoring system.
Replace damaged wiper blades, use compatible summer washer fluid and check all exterior lights. Clean glass inside and out to reduce glare.
Technical checks belong with the right person
Brakes, cooling system, battery and filters should be inspected before demanding travel. Fluid checks must follow the handbook; never open a hot cooling system or improvise work on safety-critical components.
Modern filters are normally replaced according to schedule rather than removed and knocked out. A workshop can diagnose low fluid, leaks or weak battery performance properly.
Clean the winter residue away
Vacuum salt and grit from the cabin, clean mats and glass, then wash the exterior on cool panels. Once clean, inspect paint chips and corrosion rather than covering them with cosmetic product.
AVP can coordinate vehicle care and technical preparation through AVP Services.
