A boat combines painted surfaces, gelcoat, metals, plastics, sealants and areas continuously immersed in water. One coating is not automatically suitable for all of them.

Above-water protection

A compatible coating can make certain contamination easier to remove and support gloss retention on suitable topside surfaces. It does not fill every pore, prevent scratches or eliminate repair work.

Below the waterline is different

Fouling control is regulated, location-specific and technically distinct from automotive paint protection. A generic “nano” coating must not be assumed to prevent plants or shellfish from attaching, protect timber from decay or replace an approved antifouling system.

AVP first identifies the material, exposure and maintenance process. Current product documentation and local environmental requirements determine whether any treatment is appropriate.
