The two-day Professional Polishing course was held at AVP's accessible training location in Glattbrugg and combined theory with supervised work on real paintwork.

The programme followed the complete process: paint analysis, preparation and hand washing, selection of the polishing system, machine technique and final inspection.

Participants learned to interpret the surface before choosing a product. Pad, compound, machine, section size and number of stages were linked to the paint condition rather than selected from a fixed recipe.

Each practical step was demonstrated before the participant repeated it under supervision. A polishing machine can feel unfamiliar at first, but controlled posture, cable management, pad placement and movement become clearer through guided practice.

The course also explained why section size changes with product, panel and conditions, and how insufficient overlap can leave an uneven finish.

A practical assessment concluded the programme. Participants worked on a vehicle and had to demonstrate the process before receiving a certificate.

The training was product-independent, allowing graduates to compare reputable systems and choose products without being tied to a compulsory range.
