Tracked vehicles are exposed to mud, abrasion, fuel, lubricants and demanding cleaning. A compatible coating may make selected painted panels easier to wash.

Military, industrial and historic tracked vehicles also carry functional coatings, markings, optics, weapons-related systems, hot components and safety-critical surfaces. Any treatment needs owner, operator and maintenance approval.

A ceramic coating does not stop scratches, prevent fading completely or allow heavy dirt to be removed with water alone. It must not conceal corrosion or interfere with inspection.
