Gondola cabins and chairs see repeated contact, weather and cleaning. On a suitable hard surface, a tested coating may make some contamination easier to remove.

Operation and safety cannot be bypassed

Handles, glazing, seats, floors, restraint components and technical parts have separate material, friction, fire and inspection requirements. A generic automotive coating cannot be applied across them all.

A coating does not kill bacteria, disinfect the cabin or prevent scratches. It also cannot justify working on equipment while it remains in service without operator and maintenance approval.

This article records a former concept. Any current rail or cableway treatment would require a documented test, manufacturer compatibility and an agreed shutdown and quality-control process.
