Remove winter residue thoroughly

Salt, dirt and moisture accumulate across the lower body, wheels, arches and interior during winter. A complete wash creates the clean baseline needed to inspect for damage.

Underbody cleaning must respect covers, sensors, electrical components and manufacturer guidance. High pressure is not a substitute for correct access and should not be directed indiscriminately.

Check hidden collection points

Door shuts, sills, mirror housings and wheel arches deserve attention. Visible drainage channels can be checked for leaves and dirt, but blocked internal drains or water in the cabin should be investigated by a workshop rather than probed blindly.

Refresh the interior carefully

Vacuum grit and salt before damp cleaning. Use a low-residue product on dashboard materials and avoid glossy finishes that reflect in the windscreen.

Persistent air-conditioning odour may indicate a wet filter, drain issue or microbial contamination. Diagnosis and service should follow the vehicle manufacturer's procedures; a generic spray is not a guaranteed remedy.
