Honeydew is a sugary residue produced by aphids and commonly found on vehicles parked beneath trees. Mixed with dust, pollen and heat, it can form a stubborn film.

Remove it gently and early

Do not wipe a dry, contaminated panel. Rinse loose dirt first, soften the residue with compatible automotive cleaner and wash using clean tools. Several gentle passes are safer than forceful rubbing.

Tree resin is different from honeydew and may need a dedicated remover. Always test the product on a discreet area and avoid household solvents.

Polish only if damage remains

If cleaning leaves etching, staining or loss of gloss, inspect the paint before polishing. Correction removes a small amount of clear coat and should follow the defect rather than being an automatic step.
