Wheel arches and sills collect road film, salt and moisture. Thorough cleaning makes existing chips, failed coatings and corrosion easier to see.

Rust is not a detailing defect

Active corrosion needs proper assessment. Sanding and touching in a visible spot may be suitable for a small chip, but structural or spreading corrosion requires body repair with sound preparation and corrosion control.

Protection follows repair

A compatible wax, sealant or coating can make painted surfaces easier to maintain. It cannot stop water and dirt from reaching the area or guarantee ten rust-free years.

AVP separates cleaning and protection from repair, then recommends the relevant in-house service or bodywork scope for the actual condition.
