In 2019 AVP presented a specialist ceramic-protection treatment for selected watch surfaces. The idea was to make compatible exterior areas easier to clean and less prone to very light handling marks.

Such treatment is highly material-dependent. Coated metals, polished finishes, crystals, seals and moving components cannot all be handled like automotive paint.

A surface coating does not restore water resistance, replace pressure testing or prevent scratches and impacts. Manufacturer guidance and work by a qualified watch specialist take priority, particularly for valuable or warrantied pieces.
