Classic-car care begins with understanding the surface. Original paint, single-stage systems, aged clear coat and previous repairs can all be present on one vehicle.

AVP starts with a gentle hand wash and material-safe decontamination. Automatic brushes and aggressive cleaners introduce unnecessary risk around fragile paint, seals and trim.

Before polishing, direct-light inspection and paint-thickness readings where compatible help identify thin edges, repairs and vulnerable areas. A test section then shows whether refinement is both useful and safe.

The aim is preservation, not maximum correction. Some patina belongs to the vehicle, and a defect may be better left visible than chased through limited paint.

Wax, sealant or a compatible coating can protect the prepared finish, but product choice follows the paint system, storage and future use. A long theoretical lifespan is less important than compatibility and maintainable aftercare.
